About Emily

Born and raised in San Francisco, Emily is currently a graduate student at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. She is interested in exploring the intersections of environmental justice, birth justice, and the social determinants of perinatal health, typical/atypical development, and adolescent health. She is passionate about advancing health equity and advocacy through mixed-methods research, community organizing, and implementation science.

For the past few years, Emily has worked in developmental science as a research associate with UCLA and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Outside of research…

Emily can be found outdoors by way of rock climbing, trail running, and backcountry exploring. Her creative projects work to highlight the relationship between movement and earth by capturing natural landscapes and the human experience outside.
